At a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Titusville Area Hospital’s newly remodeled lobby Thursday, hospital CEO Lee Clinton announced plans for more renovations for the hospital’s emergency room.

“It could certainly use a dress up,” Clinton said in an interview after the ceremony.

These renovations will take aim at improving the “flow” of the ER, as well as some aesthetic changes.

Among the planned changes will be an enclosed ambulance bay, which will help shield patients from the elements when being transferred into the hospital, and the putting up of walls in rooms previously only separated by curtains, allowing for more privacy.

The hospital will begin seeking capital to fund these changes, which come on the heels of its $200,000 lobby transformation.

“Our old lobby didn’t put across the kind of impression we wanted to give our visitors,” Clinton said, citing the 25,000 people who register at the hospital every year.

Of the lobby’s cost, $78,400 was off-set by donations.

The four major donors consisted of the John Henne Charitable Trust, the Five M Foundation, Catherine Q. McKinney, and the Fleming Family Foundation.

“We are very fortunate to live in such a giving community,” said Holli Wolfe, director of marketing and foundation, in a press release. “The support that the community provides to the hospital is overwhelming.”

After the ceremony, the hospital hosted a presentation on Lyme disease.
