Mom to Mom sale
The Mom to Mom sale will be held Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Pleasantville Volunteer Fire Department.
Local moms will be selling gently-used baby, toddler and kids items. There will be an admission fee.
All profit goes to the Pleasantville Pageant.
Historical Society program
The Titusville Historical Society will present a program entitled “Preserving Titusville Area Treasures,” on Tuesday, April 19, at 6:30 p.m., in the Community Room at Benson Memorial Library. Presentations will include artifacts from Pleasantville, Hydetown and Townville, as well as Titusville.
Also included will be a lecture on how to take care of your family’s valuables, such as photos, paper documents and objects.
The program is free and the public is invited to attend.

Pleasantville Alumni Banquet
The Pleasantville Alumni Association is seeking current addresses for past Pleasantville High School graduates and students who lived in the Pleasantville area when graduating from Titusville High School.
The 2016 Pleasantville Alumni Banquet will be held June 25, at the Pleasantville Volunteer Fire Department social hall.
Organizers are also seeking names and addresses of former teachers of Pleasantville high and elementary schools.
Names are too numerous to list.
If you are eligible, and have not received an invitation in the past two years, please provide your name (include maiden name if applicable), year of graduation, and current address.
If you are unsure about eligibility, please ask.
If you have been receiving the invitations and are not interested in attending, please email that message, and organizers will remove your name and address from the mailing list.
Reservations are required to attend, and invitations will be mailed in mid-April.

Pleasantville Book Club
The Pleasantville Book Club will meet on April 7, at 6 p.m., at Coal Oil Johnny’s, in Pleasantville.
The selection for April will be “Last Train to Istanbul,” by Ayse Kulin. This is an international bestseller by one of Turkey’s most beloved authors.
The group, 60 Plus, will meet on April 14, at 5 p.m., at the Hills in the Forest, on state Route 36, in Pleasantville.
Reservations would be appreciated.
Soup and pie
Shamburg Christian Church of God will be holding it annual soup and pie dinner on Saturday, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., in the Christian Life Center behind the church.
Dinner includes all the soup you can eat, rolls, beverages, and desserts. There will be many different soups and chili — something to please everyone.
So, come on out and enjoy a great dinner and socialize with your neighbors that you haven’t seen all winter.
This is a donation dinner.

Good vibration chicken salad
This salad is fast and nutritious. Great over lettuce leaves or mixed greens, in a wrap, or on a roll. Make extra for late night refrigerator raids.
Ingredients: 1 1/2 lb. chicken breast, grilled or poached and cut into small pieces, 1 green yellow and red pepper diced, 3 ripe tomatoes diced, 2 ribs of celery diced, 1 small red onion diced, 1/2 fresh pineapple, peeled, cored, and diced, 1 bunch of mint, washed with stems removed and chopped, 3/4 scallions chopped, 1/2 cup curry vinaigrette, and salt and pepper to taste.
Ingredients for curry vinaigrette: 1/4 shallots chopped, 1/2 tablespoon garlic finely chopped, 2 tablespoons curry powder, 1/2 tablespoon turmeric, 1/4 cup cider vinegar, 1 tablspoon honey, 1 cup vegetable oil, 1/2 tablespoon salt, 1 teaspoon pepper, 2 lemons juiced and 1/2 zested.
Directions: Combine all ingredients and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Ronyon means a mangy or scabby creature. It would make an excellent, inscrutable way to refer to your neighbor’s smelly, endlessly yapping dog.
