Hello out there in reader land, well I am sad to say goodbye to all of my readers. I appreciate all of the favorable messages over the past 24+ years. Today will be my final contribution to The Titusville Herald with the Diamond News.
Hello out there in reader land; I am glad we have had some nice overnight rain. It is dry and the blackberries and raspberries are drying up without being completely ripe. Cucumbers are still coming on and they are so good fresh from the garden.
Good morning, we continue to have hot, humid days; we had 101 one day with high humidity. One thing that has saved the grass from burning up is the nearly daily fog coming up from the field to the east of the house. Heavy dews have also helped. The grass slowed down some during the hot, dry …
Good morning. Fall is quickly approaching, and young people will soon be going back to college and school for another year. This is a time for every driver to be very careful near schools and especially on bus routes to protect our children and youth. Obey all rules governing any roads where…
Good morning. The cooler mornings are nice, and a relief from those days that begin with heat and humidity. We have talked with many people who say that this has been a bad year for them with the high temperatures and humidity. I know we have been bothered a lot this year, and you just feel …
Good morning. It was wonderful to see the boys from the Thai soccer team dressed and ready to go home. They will remain under doctor’s supervision for a long time yet, and most have voiced their request for favorite foods when they get home.
Good morning, I am sure all have been following the amazing story about the Thai soccer team members who have been stuck in a cave since June 23.
Good morning, I hope you had a good day with family and friends over the Fourth of July holiday.
Good morning.
Good morning. Praise the Lord, when we wake up in the morning, we are able to get out of bed, even if it takes a bit to get moving, and for the beauty of the Earth that we can enjoy. Many fields are now growing crops and we still see tractors going by during the day, and even at night, to ge…
Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers and grandfathers out there. I pray you have a wonderful day with family and friends.
Cooler days are more comfortable for some people, especially those who work outside. Thankfully, the grass has slowed down in growth, and it’s not been necessary to mow twice a week. A lady said that she could sit and watch the grass grow.
Good day to all. It sure has been hot this week. The flowering bushes and trees have been so bright and beautiful this year. We are so blessed to have such beauty to behold. God is so good.
Good morning, everyone. I am sure everyone is following the volcano eruption in Hawaii, watching as it spews forth lava and dangerous gases. It is sad seeing all the damage it will cause.
Good morning, everyone. Even with the morning or overnight rains that have been occurring lately, the afternoons are usually cleared up, and have been nice with warmer temperatures and sunshine. I think maybe summer is very near to being here. Many flowers are coming up and budding out.
There has been a lot of information on TV, in magazines and newspapers about the dangers of getting sunburned and just being in the sun. They are encouraging people to use sunscreen with multi-protection to spare your skin and give protection from getting skin cancer. Use it liberally and fr…
Good morning. We had some nice days over the weekend, and I really enjoyed being outside for two hours working in the flower beds. It rained on Tuesday, but we can be thankful for the nice days we had. The days are cooler and rainy now, but not too bad.
I was saddened Wednesday morning to hear that Mrs. Barbara Bush passed away. I have admired her since seeing her on the political scene many years ago; she always appeared to be everyone’s grandmother.
Good morning out there in reader land.
I hope you had a great Easter Day on Sunday with family and friends. We were able to visit both our kids’ families, which is always a great joy.
Good morning on this Good Friday, and this evening there will be many church services available that you and your family can attend.
Good morning everyone. Spring did arrive earlier this week, and where the snow has melted, we are beginning to see grass coming up. Before we know it, it will be time to start mowing for the year.
Good morning. I imagine you have heard about the milk problem with the cancellation of the contract with Dean Foods for its milk at Walmart. I have looked up some information and it does not look good for our area dairy farmers in Pennsylvania. There are about 42 dairy farms affected with th…
Do you get emails from Armstrong if you have their internet service? If you do, do not answer them, as it is a scam from someone trying to get your personal information by having you update your information. I have called Armstrong and they do not send emails for you to update your personal …
Good morning. Here we are into March now and many think that winter is over for this year, but I do not think so. Sometimes we have snow and ice later in the early parts of the New Year, so we just have to roll with the punches. Tuesday was a beautiful day, and Cindy and I went on a small sh…
“Therefore, you must also be ready; for the son of man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” Jesus warned the crowd to prepare for the end. No one knows when their final time will come, and putting it off may make it too late. We need to be ready, whenever it may be.
Good morning.
Well, the Philadelphia Eagles pulled it off and beat the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl. They played a great game, and I watched most of it with Gary, especially the last few minutes.
Well the groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, was to be seen this morning when he arose for breakfast; and he should have been up by now. I wonder what the result was: Did he see his shadow or not?
Can you believe we are in the last full week of January for 2018? Where did the time go? I hear so many have been ill with various conditions. Hope all are getting better daily. This up and down weather may make you feel achy and tired out. I believe that people would feel better if the weat…
Two incidents happened this week to create more sadness to the area.
Here we are in the first week of 2018; happy new year, to everyone.
I want to offer my appreciation for those who help by providing news to me for this column. This is the news of the community, and all are a part of it. I appreciate all the positive comments about how it is written. Each one is greatly appreciated.
We are only 3 days from celebrating the most important birthday in the whole world — the birth of the lord, Jesus Christ, God’s only son and savior of the world. Monday will be an exciting day for all, especially for the children.
Gary put up the bird feeders and they are a delight to watch. The Woodpeckers are especially enjoyable as they are acrobatic and hang upside down and look funny as the suet feeder sways with their weight and activity. We have seen different sized ones and ones with different head markings. T…
Well, sometime this week, we are supposed to get some snow; so far none is here, but we don’t know what the weekend has in store for us.
Good morning, everyone.
Good morning, everyone.
Good morning, everyone. Well, very cold weather is here, and the mornings have been bitter. I do not like this kind of weather, but there are people all over the world who would be thankful to have this kind of weather if they had a home to live in and food on the table.
Good morning, everyone.
Good morning, everyone.
Good morning, everyone.
Good morning, everyone. I hope you have a nice weekend.
Good morning.
Good morning. The weekend gave us some “cold” greetings, with temperature at 30 degrees and frost on the ground. The trees are changing color, and we will soon be able to catch a glimpse of another of God’s beautiful seasons.
Good morning.
Good morning.
Our hearts go out to the residents of Florida and neighboring states who have been affected by Hurricane Irma along with the residents of Texas and surrounding states affected by Hurricane Harvey.
Unfortunately, there is another hurricane headed toward the U.S., and I hope it misses the East Coast area. The recovery time for Texas and Louisiana is in progress, but will take a long, long time. Prayers are still needed for the residents in these areas.
All are keeping track of the horrible devastation happing in the cities along the Gulf, in Texas; and our hearts are heavy with sorrow thinking about all the people who have been forced from their homes with only their bare essentials.
Good morning.
