Good Morning. If you have not driven through Townville borough this week, you are in for a treat. The Maplewood graduating senior class photo banners are posted along Main Street again this year. Folks who have seen them are cruising by slowly to spot those they know from the Class of 2021.

Good morning. Today is Earth Day. There was a time that there was more attention given to this day, but not so much lately. Is it due to the pandemic or the high-tech pace that many people lead these days? It is a day to focus on the natural world that surrounds us and to make an effort to i…

Good Morning. I hope that you are able to get outdoors to enjoy the pleasant spring days that are greeting us so often these days. This time of year can offer so many positives to lift spirits if folks take the moment to pause and take in the beauty that is right outside your door.

Good Morning. Now that we are into the month of April, the only thing to notice on the calendar is that taxes need to be filed by next week, which is not really a positive point for the month. So I hope that many of us can enjoy the warmer temperatures, longer, sunnier days and the bright co…

Good Morning. Have you noticed the number of trees starting to bloom with the soft spring colors of pink, white and yellow? Most of the yellows are on the Forsythia bushes. I even heard the “peepers” on two different evenings already. Though the tricks of April 1 tease of snow, the Easter we…

Good Morning. Have you noticed with the warm weather this week that the flowers are beginning to sprout and even bloom in some cases. It is so nice to see splashes of color appearing here and there. Hopefully, there will not be a cold spell to ruin the flowers as they make their cheerful app…

Good morning to everyone, as we say farewell to winter and welcome spring on Saturday. The weather has certainly played with the season change as we have seen cold spells and warm, sunny days occurring in the same week. Even in the same day, as well.

Good Morning. Winter is waning slowly. Yes, the snow is melting and forming a lot of mud puddles, though the temperatures are still quite chilly if not downright cold some mornings. The few warmer days earlier were just teasers to what is on its way. They were just a glimpse into the coming …

Good Morning. Here we are about to begin the last weekend of Jan. 2021. This month seems to have passed so quickly. Is this the way the entire year may feel, especially after the year we just had? The slower pace of 2020 has created a rut that many of us got into without giving it much thoug…

Good Morning. Wednesday promised to be a notable day in history with the inauguration of our 46th President, along with our first female Vice-President being sworn in. Wednesday was always thought of as the “hump day” except for this week. What a wonderful kick-off for a spectacular year ahe…

Good Morning. It has been a remarkable week of nonseasonal weather to enjoy in so many ways. If every other facet of our lives were to be so pleasant, then we could rejoice in the glory of it all. But the reality is it is just a fun little hiccup in the mundane trend of the year of 2020. It’…

Good Morning. The days are obviously getting shorter, even if the temperatures do fluctuate from day to day. But as long as the sun tries to shine, it does make temperatures tolerable with the sunshine making it feel a bit warmer each time it breaks through the cloud cover

Good morning. It is so nice to have the bridge repair work completed, and have state route 408 open again. It brings back a small measure of familiarity and comfort to our lives, while so much is still unpredictable and challenging. Now onward to the rest of the country and our everyday lives.

Good Morning. Saturday will be the first day of summer. With the way the year has been thus far, we may have to look very hard to see it for more than a few days at a time. This year has lived up to its symbolism, with it being 2020, like the notion that good vision is 20/20. We have had to …
